Material Handler / Laborer
Location: Sarnia, Ontario
ProMart Industrial is growing, and we are looking for a dependable Material Handler / Laborer to join our fabrication team.
We have a strong backlog of work extending into 2028 and continue to secure major projects across the industrial, nuclear, mining, infrastructure, and defense sectors. Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently
- Receive, identify, organize, and distribute incoming materials
- Move steel, fabricated components, equipment, and supplies throughout the shop and yard
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment when qualified
- Verify materials against packing slips, work orders, and project requirements
- Sort and organize steel, parts, consumables, and scrap materials
- Assist fitters, welders, machine operators, painters, and other shop personnel as required
- Use hand tools and power tools to complete assigned tasks
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Complete general labour duties throughout the shop and property
- Follow all ProMart safety, quality, and operating procedures
- Support changing production priorities and project requirements
What We Are Looking For
- A strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- The ability to work safely in a busy industrial environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- The ability to follow instructions and complete assigned work with care
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- The ability to perform physical work, including lifting, carrying, standing, and working throughout a full shift
- Previous experience in a fabrication shop, construction environment, warehouse, or industrial setting is an asset
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset
- A valid driver’s license is an asset
Compensation
- Wage of $18.00 to $23.00 per hour, based on experience
