The HR & Payroll Administrator’s main role is to ensure that all employees are paid accurately and on time, and that all personnel issues are managed according to Scamp Policies & Procedures.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate the employee onboarding and termination processes
- Manage the enrollment, maintenance and termination of Scamp Group Benefits
- Prepare & process accurate biweekly payroll for all non-management personnel
- Prepare & process year-end tax slips for all non-management personnel
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts according to schedule
- Maintain electronic and hard-copy personnel files
- Assist management with the stewardship of discipline processes
- Correspond with employees and third parties on personnel matters (ie. employment verifications, documentation requests, database updates, etc.)
- Providing relief for other personnel within the department when required
- Support / back-up to HR Manager for all HR functions
Personal Skills & Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Solid analytical skills and sound decision making abilities
- Strong knowledge of Federal employment & privacy legislation
- Thorough understanding of the payroll cycle and year-end process
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information
Education & Work Experience Requirements
- Completed or in the process of obtaining a CPC designation or some relevant coursework with at least 3 years experience in a previous HR & Payroll role
- Completed or working on a CPHR designation (Educational Requirement)
Safety Performance Metrics
- Complete work in accordance to established procedures
- Use all tools, chemicals, office equipment and PPE as directed and according to manufacturer’s instructions
- Complete all duties in such a way to avoid injuries, incidents and near misses
- Report any incidents and near misses to HSS&E and the HR Manager
- Attend monthly OHS Committee Meetings
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies/procedures/training required for the role
