Clever Cubs Preschool Academy is an early childhood center offering a unique full day preschool program. We are committed to providing a safe, caring and inclusive environment for preschool age children. We focus on promoting each child’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical development.
We are looking for new educators to work a regular full time position Monday to Friday. The right candidate MUST be available from 10:30 to 6pm daily for August, until September when the shift will be 8:30-5:30 daily.
This position is to fill a maternity leave but is likely to move to a permanent position.
The right candidate will have:
- An ECE level 3 certificate
- Experience working in leadership and collaboratively in a classroom setting
- A strong understanding of best practice in an Early Childhood setting
- Significant experience working in an early childhood setting - preferably with preschool age children
- Teaching experience in a classroom setting
- Strong, proven classroom management skills
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and lesson design, teaching and instruction and professional development
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create strong relationships
- Desire to work in a collaborative teaching environment
- Desire to lead, guide and coach other teachers
- Respect and understanding of diversity and inclusivity
- Excellent references
- Familiarity with Jolly phonics or willingness to be trained
- Will have significant working knowledge of the Alberta Flight framework and the Reggio Emilia early childhood education philosophy
- A Commitment to lifelong learning
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Willingness to complete thorough daily cleaning tasks at the end of the day
- Available for an August 1 start.

Conditions of Employment, upon hiring:
- All Candidates must be able to pass a police clearance with vulnerable sector search
- All candidates must complete CPR/First Aid course and provide a copy of the certificate
- All candidates must provide a copy of their ECE level 3 certificate
- All candidates will complete a food safety basics training course
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$28.00 per hour
