Overview
BC-based pre-finishing company specializing in factory-finished wood siding, soffit, and cladding for residential and commercial construction. We pre-finish cedar, hemlock, and specialty wood products — including our wire-brushed Tidal Series — and deliver jobsite-ready product to builders, contractors, and lumber yards across British Columbia.
After a decade of owner-led sales, we're ready to bring on our first dedicated outside sales representative to grow our presence across Greater Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, and beyond.
You will be the team's primary face in the market — building relationships with architects, designers, custom builders, contractors, and lumber yard buyers who specify and purchase our products. This is a relationship-first role: you are educating the market, getting our products onto spec sheets, and developing loyal long-term accounts. Not high-pressure transactional
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with architects and designers — present product lines, deliver samples, and secure specification on upcoming projects
- Call on custom builders and GCs to introduce product lines and identify project opportunities
- Grow existing lumber yard accounts and open new distribution relationships
- Represent industry events and trade shows
- Manage your own schedule and travel with a strong sense of self-direction
- Report to our Fraser Valley facility two days per week
Territory
- Greater Vancouver & Fraser Valley — primary, regular weekly activity
- Vancouver Island — approx. 4 trips/year
- BC Interior — a few trips/year (existing distribution partner active here)
- BC North — 1–2 trips/year
Skills
Required:
- Proven outside sales or business development experience — building products, construction, architecture, or design supply is a strong asset but not required
- Comfortable presenting to architects, designers, and trade buyers
- Self-directed and organized; you manage your own schedule and own your results
- Valid BC driver's license and ability to travel within the territory
Beneficial but not required:
- Existing relationships with architects, designers, or builders in the Lower Mainland
- Experience with specification sales (selling to those who influence, not just purchase)
- Familiarity with the AIBC, IDIBC, or CHBA BC communities
Compensation
Base Salary: $60,000 – $72,000 depending on experience
Performance Bonus: Annual bonus tied to clear targets including territory revenue growth, new accounts opened, and architect/designer specifications generated.
