Job Title: Part-Time Groundskeeping & Property Maintenance Associate
Position Type: Part-Time, Year-Round
Jakeman's Maple Products are seeking a reliable, self-motivated Groundskeeping & Property Maintenance Associate to maintain our grounds, buildings, and outdoor facilities year-round.
Key Responsibilities
Year-Round Duties
- Waste & Recycling Management: Clearing garbage and debris across all grounds, taking out recycling, and maintaining clean outdoor spaces for public, staff, events, and children.
Summer Maintenance
- Lawn & Landscaping: Lawn mowing, weed whipping, cutting around roadside signs, tree planting, and staking plants.
- Water & Grounds Care: Applying pond enzymes and dye twice monthly, raking algae, and clearing leaves and fallen tree branches.
- Property Upkeep: Cleaning up fence lines and ditches, filling potholes, pressure washing building concrete slabs and decks, and washing air conditioning rads.
- Pest Control & Facility Care: Applying Roundup spray, monitoring/filling exterior bait stations around specified locations, and emptying smoker ashtrays every six months.
- Equipment Care: Cleaning lawn mowers after use and reporting maintenance needs promptly.
Winter Maintenance
- Snow Prep & Removal: Installing snow plow markers before the season starts.
- Equipment Operation: Operating a JCB Wheel Loader with a 10' snow blade for 5:00 AM snow plowing shifts and spreading sand using the loader bucket.
- Walkway Safety: Shoveling and salting walkways, loading docks, and entrance steps.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience operating heavy machinery (specifically wheel loaders or similar equipment) and commercial lawn care tools.
- Ability to start early morning shifts (5:00 AM) during winter weather events.
- Strong physical condition, comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Self-starter with keen attention to detail and property safety.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
