Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Canadian corporate tax compliance (T2, T106, T5013, T1134, T1135)
- Withholding tax compliance (Regulation 105, Regulation 102, NR4, T4A-NR, tax waivers)
- Payroll tax compliance (T4 Summary, payroll calculations, Personal T1 compliance, tax equalizations)
- Preparation of accounting tax provision working paper files including book to filing analysis
- International tax treaty analysis
- Exposure to U.S. and other international tax compliance
- Tax research and preparation of tax memorandums (mergers & acquisitions, foreign affiliate surplus calculations, safe income calculations)
- Works with transfer pricing colleagues on all aspects of contemporaneous documentation.
- Assists Manager/Principal in preparing client presentations for proposals, planning strategies, and ideas.
- Demonstrates ability to understand the Income Tax Act and Regulations for various tax issues; training provided.
- Responds to client requests and corresponds with clients to meet deliverables.
- Travels to client locations to review, gather, and copy tax returns, financial statements, work papers, tax studies, and other documentation to use in compliance and consulting services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- 3 to 8 years of full time tax experience in industry and/or public practice.
- Must have excellent organization and time management skills, strong communication skills, and willingness to learn and be a team player.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have beginner’s knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Taxprep software.
