Reporting to the Manager, Accounting Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for various duties within Accounting Services, including the preparation of month-end and year-end financial working papers for the Board's subsidiary systems. This position is also responsible for providing financial analyses and supporting workflow modernization.
The successful applicant for this Temporary Educational Support Staff position, Level G ( $66,354-$80,653 ), will be working 35 hours per week, 12 months per year, effective as soon as possible to February 26, 2027.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all month end and year end activities for the Board's subsidiary systems - Waterloo Education Foundation Inc., Scholarship, School Activities Funds including financial statements and related Canada Revenue Agency forms;
- Administer the Board's Purchasing Card program, including reconciliation and compliance monitoring;
- Prepare monthly HST submissions along with related journal entries and account reconciliations;
- Provide clarification and explanations for any related questions from External Auditors, CRA and staff;
- Work collaboratively as a member of the Financial Services team to meet departmental and organizational objectives; Other duties as assigned;
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a business related field (e.g. Accounting, Economics, Business Administration) is required;
- Candidates with a Canadian Professional accounting designation are preferred; candidates currently enrolled in the CPA
- Professional Education Program (PEP) may also be considered; Minimum 5 years' experience in a role carrying out similar work;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders;
- Demonstrated proficiency with technology and advanced computer applications (Microsoft, Adobe, Google suite of tools), Electronic Document Management and Financial Information Systems;
- Ability to work in a detail oriented work environment and maintain confidentiality on a broad range of personal and business information;
A combination of skills and experience will be considered.
