Position Summary: Fairview Senior’s Community is recruiting a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join our Seniors Active Living Centre (Kinesiologist). As we build a community for all, this position assists in supporting the vibrant program department by implementing innovative activities and programs to provide meaningful independence, social inclusion, a sense of belonging and contribution for seniors in the Fairview community.
Reports to: Director Program & Services
Assets and Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Degree in Kinesiology or equivalent program.
- Current registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
- Experience working with seniors with complex, age-related diseases and/or mental health concerns
- Must be self-motivated to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Team-work attitude and positive approach to work
- Current National Lifeguard Certification/Bronze Cross an asset
- Current Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector component required
- Current TB skin test
- Full vaccination status required
Position Specific Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Supervise participants in the exercise room and fitness centre
- Lead individual and group exercise classes
- Provide tours to visitors and orientation to new member
- Monitor and track exercise progress and health changes of participants
- Track attendance of all programs
- Community outreach
- Complete grant and funding statistics
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and function as well as coordinate equipment and repairs and purchase
- Set up and take down equipment in exercise classes
- Assist participants with transfers and equipment set up as deemed safe and reasonable for successful use of the facilities
- Create, modify and assess programs
- Assist with social and recreational activities throughout the centre as needed
- Maintain participant files
- Attend departmental meetings
- Organize music to coordinate with programs

- All required PPE is provided/Regular COVID 19 screening is required for work and provided on site.
- COVID Vaccination required
- Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time, push/pull carts and/or wheelchairs is required.
