Lead, Corporate Security and Business Continuity
Job Description Summary
We are looking for a Lead, Corporate Security and Business Continuity to join our Enterprise& Operational Risk team. The Lead will report into Director, Business Continuity& Corporate Security and support OMERS in achieving the required level of personal and physical security for our corporate employees and assets and to be able to respond effectively to any personal and/or physical security event including any business travel related event, with a focus on continuous improvement. This includes ensuring our people are safe, there is a mature level of awareness, our assets, and data secure, our technology functional and that our communications are clear.
Position Scope:
- Develop and lead the strategy to mature the Corporate Security program and the Occupational Health& Safety program (tools, policy, protocols, and processes) that will ensure the safety of corporate employees and physical assets across the organization including workplace violence mitigation, investigations, physical and personal security vulnerability risk assessments, travel security, event security and executive protection provisioning and training
- Establish and maintain program processes and practices to ensure security protocols remains current, and incorporate industry standards as appropriate, including maintenance of documentation, tools, and instructional guides
- In partnership with Facilities, Guest Services and Building Property management, ensure excellent communication in routine and emergency situations, including scheduling and coordinating physical security tests and exercises
- Engage and liaise with security third party vendors who support the OMERS Corporate Security Program including OMERS travel security vendor and physical security suppliers
- Coordinate Physical Threat Risk Assessments for Head Office and the Global Business Offices
- Support physical and personal security investigations
- Oversee security planning and coverage for corporate events
- Maintain the corporate Closed-Circuit Video System policy and protocol
- Maintain relationship with local Occupational Health& Safety authorities
- Coordinate monthly safety hazard floor inspections and any resulting required mitigation actions.
- Complete monthly, quarterly and bi-annual Health& Safety performance metrics reporting requirements
- Support Health& Safety incident investigations
- Manage the Emergency Warden and First Aid programs for the Toronto Head Office (EY Tower, 85 Richmond)
- Lead the First Aid employee responder recruitment, training and response monitoring
- Lead the Evacuation Wardens recruitment, training and equipment provision
- Maintain the Head Office Health and Safety information board to be aligned with regulatory requirements
- Support the Head Office Joint Health and Safety Committee quarterly meetings, committee requirements and training
- Develop, implement, and facilitate a Corporate Security and Occupational Health& Safety training and awareness program
- Develop and track meaningful Corporate Security and Health& Safety key risk indicator metrics (KRI)
- Support the completion of the annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA) process for OMERS and Oxford business units
- Participate in coordinating and validating annual Business Continuity Plan (BCP) exercises for OMERS and Oxford business units
- Contribute to and participate in quarterly Business Continuity Champion meetings
- Support business continuity risk/threat assessments and horizon scanning
- Coordinate eSIM functionality testing for all OMERS and Oxford business units
- Lead and coordinate semi-annual emergency mass notification system tests across all Global Business Offices
- Oversee and facilitate annual reviews and tabletop exercises for all Global Business Office Incident Response Plans
- Provide support and participate in Incident, Crisis and Business Continuity response protocols during a disruptive event
- Participate in external 7x24x365 incident management on-call support
- Act in an expert administrator’s capacity for OMERS emergency mass notification system, OMERS travel security platform and OMERS business continuity management platform software
Required Skills:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the corporate security industry, with exposure and involvement in the financial services and/or real estate industries or other related corporate environments
- 3 to 5 years of experience with management of a corporate Occupational Health& Safety program
- 3 to 5 years of experience in developing security procedures and protocols
- 3 years of experience in a project management role with the ability to handle and prioritize a variety of activities
- Excellent MS Office skills including Excel, Word and PPT
- Strong organizational skills
- Exceptional ability to remain calm in a high stress environment
Desired Skills:
- 1-2 years of experience supporting business continuity management activities including BIAs and BCP exercises
- Excellent presentation and training skills
- Excellent team skills, both as a leader and as a team player
- Strong ability to learn new software system skills at the expert administrator level
- Highly developed relationship skills with demonstrated ability to communicate on verbal and written form to a variety of audiences internally and externally
- Highly driven with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high quality outcomes
- Excellent data gathering and analysis skills

The expected salary range for this position is $86,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year.
