Description:
In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of all corporate finance and accounting operations, including reporting, budgets, forecasting, payroll, stakeholder relationships, records maintenance, and developing a comprehensive set of controls to ensure accuracy, data integrity and projections. The Corporate Controller will also partner closely with the leadership team to implement and streamline department procedures, monitor P&L, and operational performance.
The Corporate Controller will collaborate with external department leaders, including but not limited to, purchasing, human resources, and management to monitor and control costs, provide guidance and advice, and implement efficiencies.
General Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting

Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial and management reporting related to the financial position and results of the organization
- Provides oversight to all accounting functions, including monthly close processes, financial reporting/analysis, payroll, accounts receivable and payables, and cashflow management
- Provides valuable financial insights and analysis to assist leadership with the evaluation, implementation and management of key business strategies and new opportunities
- Develops robust budgets and financial forecasts, and completes associated reporting with consideration of historical results and future assumptions
- Implements and maintains appropriate internal controls and safeguards for cash management functions
- Leads and actively participates in year-end processes with external auditors
- Manages accounting software and ensures that financial records are secure
- Ensures government remittances are prepared and submitted in a timely and accurate manner
- Coordinates and administers the maintenance of material assets and capital project reports
- Administers and maintains banking relationships
Procurement

Designs strategies and plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies across the organization
- Prepares and maintains pricing information
- Maintains supplier information such as vendor names, locations, delivery times and product information
- Manages the end-to-end procurement function, including compiling scoping requirements from other members of the leadership team, issuing request for proposals and quotes, works with business units to evaluate submissions and options, and coordinates final decision making on purchasing decisions, including overseeing the contracting and purchasing process and management of the purchase order process
Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or a similar field of study with a focus in Finance or Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
- Possession of a recognized professional Accounting designation (CPA)
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable leadership role
- Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
- Experience developing and managing budgets, monthly reports, and forecasts
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply General Accepted Accounting Principles
- Excellent organization and time-management skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience with various financial and accounting software with an ability to identify efficiency and integration opportunities
- Experience with Microsoft business solutions is an asset
- Experience in the dental industry or manufacturing environment is an asset
- Ability to delegate effectively, manage, motivate and inspire a team
- Ability to think strategically and willingness to work in a hands-on role
