This position of Clubhouse Bartender is the heart of our members dining experience. Dining, sometimes revered as an emotional experience, proves to be best enjoyed when served by knowledgeable, co-operative and well-mannered teammates. Complete bartenders are not only providers of beverage but rather ambassadors, salespersons and representatives of the Club as a whole. Member perceptions of the Club in general are influenced by the "front-line" staff they encounter. The position also entails the maintenance and enhancement of the level of service necessary to properly represent Essex G&CC.
Required Skills:
§ Minimum Grade 12 Education.
§ Good communication skills with a Good working knowledge of written and spoken English.
§ Well groomed, mannerly, co-operative and outwardly friendly (team oriented).
§ Ability to work under periods of extreme pressure.
§ Able to work split shifts - days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
§ Good organizational skills.
§ 1-year banquet and/or restaurant bartending experience of equal comparison.
§ Smart Serve training required in advance of employment.
§ Knowledge of P.O.S System, Jonas or equivalent is an asset.
§ Punctual and reliable.
§ Ability to stand for extended periods
§ Comprehensive knowledge of food & beverage to include wines, liquors and beers.

D. SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Primary:
§ Maintain a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction. Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner
§ Properly serve the guest food and beverage in a timely, professional manner
§ Ensure that the food and beverage is the proper temperature with consistent presentation
§ Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
§ Work as a team with co-workers as well as other departments
§ Assist in food, beverage, equipment, meeting supplies, china, glass, and silverware inventories on a predetermined basis
§ Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees
§ Enforce all sanitation procedures including safety guidelines as well as Covid protocols and requirements for a safe environment for members and staff
§ Organizing equipment for a function as well as cleaning, maintaining, and looking after equipment during and after functions
§ Make sure all storerooms are clean, organized and secured
§ Immediate communication of special requests made by guests or members to the manager, or event supervisor.
§ Follow all designated opening and closing procedures to ensure areas are secure and energy efficient
§ Adhere to all department and Club wide policies and procedures
§ Ensure the proper handling and cleaning of all equipment, china, glass, and silver
§ Perform any reasonable request assigned by management for the Club’s staffing and performance needs
§ Attend staff meetings as required
§ Menu and beverage testing conducted on a regular basis, with a passing grade of 70% or better required for consideration of advancement.
Secondary:
§ Detect and eliminate, or report for correction, all physical hazards and unsafe conditions immediately by completing a safety work order
§ Report deficiencies to the appropriate personnel.
§ Follow the accident investigation procedures included in this manual.
§ Actively cooperate with the Health and Safety Committee.
§ Insist on good housekeeping and enforce the “Clean As You Go” policy.
