Job Summary
The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for assisting in the clerical duties involved in the daily operations of the pharmacy.
Duties
- Answers phones in a professional and courteous manner. Directs all calls appropriately and takes accurate messages.
- Greet patients promptly and obtain their prescription information
- Process and package prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Enter in patient demographics and create patient profiles accurately
- Accurately adjudicate prescriptions through third parties
- Cash out patients
- Manage inventory
- Understands and adheres to all laws and privacy standards
- Understands and adheres to company policies and procedures.
- Meets expectations for customer/patient satisfaction and anticipates customer/patient needs.
- Refer to the pharmacist for any clinical inquiries
- Manage patient questions both in person and on the phone
- Handles customer/patient complaints in a fair and empathetic manner.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
Requirements
- Six Months of Pharmacy Assistant Experience In Canada is required
- Fillware Experience is an asset
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient care and customer service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations is an advantage.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if required.
