As a Machine Operator, you are responsible in ensuring seamless processing of machinery and products. The Machine Operator is required to ensure the safe, efficient operation, cleaning off and running adjustments for their machine(s) and maintenance of prescribed quantity and quality of the product produced. They must be prepared to work as a team member, follow all safety and food safety procedures, and have a high threshold for heat in a manufacturing environment. Below are the detailed responsibilities of this role:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducting and recording continuous daily inspections of machine operations and reporting any deficiencies or operational errors to the Supervisor and Maintenance Team.
- Ensure a cleaning schedule has been performed and maintained to ensure the productivity of the operating machine runs in a safe manner.
- Prioritize product quality is maintained by monitoring speed, measurements, and fill levels to meeting the product standards.
- Perform Quality Assurance checks & safety checks on every machine.
- Ensure stocks of needed materials are always ready and available.
- Maintain updated data into software program.
- Provide information regarding progress to supervisors.
- Collaborate with production handlers and all other production workers to meet the production schedule.
- Assist packing of finished goods in a properly and safely manner.
- Always keep equipment and the surrounding area in a clean manner.
- Meet all production requirement and deadlines as required.
- Collaborate with all workers at your station and assist in monitoring all packing systems and conveyors that ensures all equipment is running an efficient and effective manner.
- Perform continuous basic preventative maintenance, that are within your limits, to ensure the overall functionality of the machine is running in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performing regular product checks to ensure that the product is always meeting the product quality standards.
- In addition, certain physical requirements of your job include the ability to:
- Lifting capacity of 32 kg
- Standing for an extended period (between eight and ten hours), and
- Remain alert and focused throughout your shift.
Tools required for Machine Operator:
All machine operators must provide their own tools, such as:
- 1 – set of standard Allen Keys
- 1 – 9/16” Wrench
- 1 – ½” Wrench
- 2 - ¾” Wrench
- 1 – 7/6” Wrench
Quality Control for this Position Involves:
- Collaborating with Quality Control department in various product quality testing
- Collaborating with Quality Control department to conduct investigations when needed.
- Ensure the proper sanitizing schedule is met.
Skills & Qualification Required:
- High School Education, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a production environment or similar.
- Able to read, write, and understand English.
- Good computer skills and understanding of data input software programs is considered an asset.
- Excellent team player, reliable and having good people skills.
- Flexible schedule to meet the demands of the production schedule.
Pay: $23.00 per hour
