About the Position
The ADM Windsor, Ontario, vegetable oil processing facility is seeking candidates for the position of Quality Control Technician. Normal work hours are 12 hour continental shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities-
Engaging in wet chemistry and handling chemicals
-
Prepare and process samples for analysis of:
-
Raw materials
-
Finished feed products – soybean meal, canola meal, hulls
-
Finished food products – edible oil
-
Perform analytical testing using laboratory apparatus and record results using a computerized data system

Daily calibration of and some minor repairs of standard lab equipment
-
Maintain on-going records of all results from testing procedures
-
Perform daily monitoring tests throughout the facility
-
Retrieve samples from the production area
Skills and Qualifications-
Detail oriented and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
-
Excellent communication skills - both oral and detailed written are needed to be effective in this position
-
Excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple ongoing tasks and strive for continuous improvement
-
General knowledge of software systems such as Microsoft Office applications is an asset
-
Must be able to work independently as well as with a team
-
Must have knowledge of applicable OHSA standards, GMP’s, HACCP and other applicable feed and food safety standards
Education or Work Experience-
The candidate must have a three (3) year diploma in Chemical Engineering Technologist or equivalent/or 8-10 years of experience
Additional Information-
Regular, prompt attendance

Must be willing to work overtime

Ability to climb stairs, lift 25 pounds and sit and stand for long periods

Ability to complete Company sponsored training as required

Follow ADM health and safety standard and report all unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor

Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation
-
Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements.
