Job Summary
We are a busy and well established dermatology clinic in The Kingsway area seeking an experienced Medical Office Administrator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a medical office, excellent communication skills in english, and proficiency in Accuro EMR and OHIP billing.
As the first point of contact for our patients, the right candidate plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing administrative support, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in various electronic health record (EHR) systems, Accuro EMR and a solid understanding of medical terminology and coding.
Duties Full time or Part time days TBD 8:00am-4:30pm
- Manage front desk operations, including greeting patients and answering multi-line phone systems with professionalism, kindness and courtesy.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic calendar efficiently.
- Perform insurance verification and assist patients with billing inquiries.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process medical collections and handle documentation review for accuracy.
- Utilize EHR systems such as Accuro or similar platforms for patient data management.
- Assist with medical coding using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and ensure proper documentation for care plans.
- Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and data entry using Microsoft Office applications.
- Support patient service initiatives by addressing inquiries and providing information regarding services offered.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient patient care delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years experience in a medical office or clinic setting is mandatory.
- A Health Office Administration Diploma
- Familiarity with EHR systems such as Accuro is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical dermatology terminology, ICD coding, CPT coding, Medicare processes, and health information management is essential.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and 10-key typing ability.
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to enhance patient interactions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation and record keeping.
