Chronicle Custom Woodworks is a small custom woodworking shop located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Specializing in custom woodworking of all types, with particular emphasis on the manufacture of staircases and handrails, custom doors, and bespoke woodworking, Chronicle has positioned itself as a leader in the specialty woodworking industry within Saskatoon and Saskatchewan. We are looking for a Shop Hand with a positive and professional approach to join our team.
In this permanent full-time position, you will report directly to the Production Manager and assist in the production of stair parts, handrail, and other solid wood components as directed. We are looking for an individual who is motivated, has an eagerness to learn a trade, demonstrates attention to detail, and who can grow with our company. This should be considered an entry level position. Work will take place in the workshop and on-site at job locations.

Salary is commensurate with experience. The ideal candidate has proficiency with hand and power tools, has experience in woodworking or construction, and enjoys physical labour . You are affable and enjoy daily interaction with your coworkers. A grade 12 or equivalent education is required. In field or on site construction or workshop experience will be considered an asset.
You will:
- Learn about hardwood manufacturing, taking the raw wood and turning it into finished products
- Track your time and any raw materials in order to account for production costs
- Be quick to assist other staff in the shop as necessary
- Work independently and in conjunction with the production team as needed, ensuring that available labour is being used to its full potential
- Learn about and be involved in all aspects of production, including shipping and receiving, fabrication, sanding, finishing, installation, cleaning, etc
- Be able to identify areas where you lack expertise and be willing receive instructions and work under the direction of the Production Manager
- Sand, inspect, and identify defects in the final product as part of our quality control process
- Ensure that all safety procedures are being complied with
- Maintain shop cleanliness and ensure products and deliverables are organized and safely stored
- Did we mention sanding?
- Remain flexible in the performing of other duties as assigned by the Production Manager as is fitting in a small shop work environment where irregular work is normal
