Salary Range: $27.276 – $29.060 per hour (Start rate: determined in accordance with collective agreement requirements)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; 0700 - 1500
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Job Summary:
As an integral member of the FMPRO team, this position performs cross-functional and other responsibilities, as assigned and/or requested. The position is an integral member of the Maintenance Department, the MAINTENANCE III position works under the direction of certified tradesperson and is a CUPE 1156 bargaining unit position. Position Works in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contravention’s of the Act, in a timely manner.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES REQUIRED:
Position will be placed at all 3 sites UC, BC and LC on a scheduled basis and as needed for specific tasks at sites but will be home based out of UC .
- Assist BSMs as needed in performance of preventative maintenance and repairs to patient care equipment such as electrical beds, lifters
- Performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the building including HVAC, plumbing and lighting ,ice makers ,nurse call and any maintenance related calls using Lock and Tag out of equipment when required.
- Perform patching , drywall , sanding ,painting ,filter changes cleaning of mechanical rooms and equipment as needed.
- Provides assistance to calls in regards to elevators, electrical, equipment, beds, etc.
- Responds to calls for patient search, floods, plumbing, heating and cooling equipment.
- Place emergency calls for service to Hospital equipment
- Duties to include lawn care, snow removal, weed removal and grounds keeping and any other duties as assigned.
Compliance with and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients
QUALIFICATIONS:
Mechanical, electrical and plumbing knowledge
Ability to maintain fans, bearings, pumps, pneumatic controls, basic electrical repair
Computer literate, capable of reading drawings
Ability to service patient care equipment such as electrical beds & lifting devices
Must be able to follow procedures and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Able to lift heavy objects.
Significant bending, lifting , standing , walking , climbing stairs and ladders .
Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
