Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work on diverse equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. The Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely to support our operations.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks.
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed for repairs or modifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist with equipment assembly and installation projects
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before breakdowns occur
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic or similar role in dealership or industrial settings
- Strong knowledge of Caterpillar, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and automotive repair is preferred
- Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and other heavy equipment
- Skilled in welding, schematics reading, mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting complex systems
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment required for repairs
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic
- Relevant certifications or technical training in mechanical or electrical systems are a plus
- Customer service orientation with good communication skills
Pay: $34.62 per hour
