About the Role
Laidlaw Carriers Van is seeking experienced Class 1 (or AZ) Highway Owner Operators based in Halifax, NS. You will haul Dry Van freight throughout Canada and the United States. Our operations run 24/7, and drivers are typically on the road 7–10 days at a time.
We are looking for professional drivers committed to safety, reliability, and strong communication.
Responsibilities
- Haul freight between Canada and the U.S.
- Follow all safety, compliance, and cross-border regulations
- Complete dispatch-assigned work efficiently and professionally
- Maintain accurate logs and required documentation
Requirements
- Valid AZ licence or Class 1
- Late-model equipment
- Requirements are flexible and approved at divisional level.
- Minimum 2 years of verified Canada/USA driving experience
- Clean CVOR and Driver’s Abstract
- Clean criminal record check (required for cross-border travel)
- Must be willing and able to travel into the United States regularly
- Comfortable being out in the truck 7–10 consecutive days per week
- FAST Card preferred
