English Teacher for Grade 1–3 students
We are looking for a warm, engaging, and experienced English teacher to work with Grade 1–3 students at our learning centre in Oakville, who enjoys working with children and can create a fun, interactive, and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead students in reading age-appropriate books and stories
- Help students develop reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency
- Encourage students to talk about what they read and express their ideas clearly
- Develop speaking activities, discussions, and storytelling
- Guide students in writing sentences, short paragraphs, and creative responses
- Provide positive and constructive feedback
- Create an engaging classroom where children feel comfortable speaking, reading, and writing in English
Qualifications
- OCT certification is strongly preferred
- Experience teaching English or elementary-aged children
- Strong spoken and written English
- Experience teaching reading, writing, or literacy skills
- Patient, enthusiastic, and comfortable working with young learners
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Experience working with ESL students is an asset
