Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and organized Truck Dispatcher to coordinate loads, communicate with drivers, and ensure efficient operations. The ideal candidate has experience in freight dispatching, strong negotiation skills, and knowledge of industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and book loads using load boards and broker relationships
- Negotiate freight rates to maximize profitability
- Dispatch drivers and provide clear load instructions
- Monitor drivers’ Hours of Service (HOS) compliance
- Track shipments and provide status updates to brokers/customers
- Minimize deadhead miles and optimize routes
- Handle detention, layovers, TONU, and accessorials
- Maintain accurate records and submit paperwork for billing
- Ensure compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations
Qualifications
- Previous dispatching experience preferred (1+ years)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Understanding of HOS regulations
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in dispatch software and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace

- Experience working with owner-operators
- Knowledge of freight lanes and market rates
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Customer service experience
