CRAFT Beer Market Southcentre is currently hiring a Sous Chef to join our kitchen management team. At CRAFT, our Sous Chefs help oversee all aspects of day to day kitchen execution and food production, including a la carte service, parties/functions and outside caterings, reporting directly to the Executive Chef. In addition to overseeing kitchen execution, the Sous Chef is to help manage the kitchen in accordance to all of CRAFT's policies, standards, recipes and procedures.
Job duties include:
Aid the Executive Chef and Sous Chef team in overseeing and impacting kitchen production, through both food quality and execution of food service to ensure a great guest experience.
Ensuring the training and development of all team members in the kitchen and providing coaching to promote and uphold our recipes, standards and procedures.
Overseeing that all areas of the kitchen are compliant with the highest level of cleanliness and organization.
Help maintain and impact all financial aspects of the kitchen, through managing labor and food costs to within allotted budgets.
Clearly and openly communicate with both BOH and FOH management/supervisors, detailing any and all needs of the business. If any opportunities arise, provide solutions to benefit.
Culinary education trade papers, red seal certification or equivalent experience in a previous kitchen role.
Strong understanding of all areas in a commercial kitchen.
Ability to understand and maintain operating food and labor budgets.
Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitization standards.
Effective decision making and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to give direction and provide coaching to all team members.
Showcase strong leadership qualities and positive attitude.
