The TCS Group of Companies is seeking a General Manager for our new distribution center, currently under construction in Scoudouc, NB.

The General Manager will be responsible for running the facility profitably. This includes driving sales, providing excellent customer service, ensuring operational excellence, managing the team, ensuring safety, maintenance, and delivering financial results. The General Manager will be responsible to build and develop the team that executes daily operations of the site, always ensuring compliance with OHSA, CFIA, BRC, HACCP and TSSA guidelines and fostering strong and proactive management of the Distribution Centre; you will also be responsible for leading and implementing innovative initiatives that reduce cost, increase productivity and profitability.
Responsibilities
· Overall management and accountability of the Distribution Centre and driving sales for the site, offering exceptional service levels to the customers the DC serves
· Plan, direct, and coordinate all distribution activities; always act upon opportunities to add value and profitability by using initiative and seeking out innovative solutions or cost savings
· Develop, implement, and ensure service and KPI levels are met in compliance with signed manufacturer/customer agreements
· Ensure all customer issues are handled effectively and in a timely manner to meet and exceed their expectations and build a customer inspired culture
· Actively seek sales opportunities by liaising with potential customers while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers
· Create, have approved, and administer the budget for the DC. Develop and implement operational tactics for controlling operating costs and improving efficiencies at the Distribution Center. Foster a culture of continuous improvement
· Manage DC labor planning and collaborate with HR to ensure adequate staffing; responsible for hiring, training and developing the team and to build a culture that promotes safety, teamwork and positive work environment
· Working collaboratively with other departments to build alignment with sales, operations, IT, maintenance, finance and HR to ensure business growth
· Ensure compliance with OHSA, CFIA, HACCP, BRC, TSSA, and other regulatory guidelines and foster safe, strong and proactive management of the site
· Promote the company’s vision, mission and values, leading the way in demonstrating TCS's people culture; Promote and maintain employee engagement
· Oversee the maintenance of the warehouse including seasonal upkeep activities and managing preventive maintenance.
Requirements
- Degree in Operations Management or a related Supply Chain Management program;
- 5+ years of pertinent operational experience with a proven track record;
- Recognized knowledge of 3PL models, distribution, transportation, and logistics information systems
- Experience with engineered labor standards considered an asset
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze results and respond effectively and efficiently;
· Experience in leveraging WMS software applications
- Strong communication and presentation skills;
- A professional, confident, and strategic relationship builder;
- Strong interpersonal skills; highly people-oriented; excels in a team environment;
- Accountable and results-oriented;
- Collaborative and capable of functioning with confidence and credibility at the senior level of the client organization;
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office; Word, Excel, PPT
- Knowledge of GMP will be considered an asset
- Be available for travel as required
