Administrative Full-time Replacement Position

Conestoga Corporate Services team is currently recruiting a Director, Governance & Risk for the Corporate Services department. Under the supervision of the Vice President (VP), Corporate Services, the Director, Governance & Risk will provide strategic direction for the development and maintenance of the regulatory framework, risk management and legal counsel, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FIPPA) and information management services that enable the College’s administrative services and minimizes risk exposure.
Although many of our employees are currently working remotely, all employees are expected to be able to work on campus as required.
Enhance the policy management functions of the College by ensuring interdependencies are identified, a community of practitioners are supported, and quality assurance is provided
Develop processes and procedures for legal reviews and contract management
Oversee the development and maintenance of a privacy program
Position the College to proactively identify and manage risk along with ensuring legal and regulatory compliance
Implement comprehensive records and information management program
Foster relationships and partnerships throughout the College that maintain effective consultation and collaboration
Support the VP through ensuring quality stewardship of corporate assets while mitigating risk
Resolve issues through negotiation on behalf of the VP
Implement best practices with an eye to quantifiable and reportable results
Provide leadership and exercise influence both hierarchically and laterally
Minimum Honours Degree in Business Administration, Law, Information Management or related fields or areas required; Master’s Degree preferred
A minimum of ten years of relevant and demonstrated experience in a related field
Strong awareness of the regulatory environment and requirements for publicly funded Colleges
Demonstrated history of leadership and building teams to achieve results
Extensive experience working independently and collaboratively as part of a team, preferably in an academic environment
Exceptional presentation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Strong commitment to academic excellence and student success, and the ability to support Conestoga’s continuous quality improvement initiatives
