TX2 Recycling is a growing Canadian recycling company committed to providing professional, reliable, and environmentally responsible metal-recycling services. We are looking for a dependable and safety-conscious Non-Ferrous Warehouse/Yard Labourer to join our team.
This is a hands-on position involving the receiving, sorting, grading, processing, and preparation of non-ferrous metals. The successful candidate will be organized, physically capable, willing to learn, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Position Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, sort, and grade non-ferrous metals such as copper, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, insulated wire, lead, electric motors, and batteries.
- Separate materials according to company specifications and commodity grades.
- Prepare materials for shipment by sorting, packaging, palletizing, banding, and loading.
- Accurately weigh materials and assist with recording weights and material classifications.
- Safely load and unload customer vehicles, company trucks, bins, and trailers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, skid steers, and other yard equipment when trained and authorized.
- Use hand tools and approved processing equipment to prepare material for resale.
- Maintain clean, organized, and clearly identified warehouse and yard storage areas.
- Assist customers in a professional and respectful manner.
- Identify prohibited, hazardous, contaminated, or incorrectly classified materials.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical or safety concerns.
- Assist with inventory counts and general yard or warehouse duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in metal recycling, warehousing, construction, manufacturing, or general labour is preferred.
- Knowledge of non-ferrous metals and material grading is an asset, but training can be provided.
- Forklift or skid-steer experience is an asset.
- Ability to follow instructions and accurately identify different material types.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Valid driver’s licence is an asset.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to perform repetitive lifting, bending, standing, walking, and material-handling duties.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Comfortable working around machinery, trucks, dust, dirt, and noise.
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.
