Overview
We are seeking a culinary‑qualified Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. This role is the second professionally trained chef in our kitchen, working alongside our Lead Culinary Staff to ensure high‑quality food preparation, safe operations, and compliance with all child‑care food safety standards. The ideal candidate brings both skill and heart to a kitchen that serves children daily.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Culinary Staff in managing daily kitchen operations.
- Prepare meals and snacks in accordance with South East Public Health Unit guidelines and Ministry of Education licensing requirements.
- Demonstrate reliability and professionalism in a fast‑paced institutional kitchen.
- Prepare meals with meticulous attention to detail, including accurate label reading to avoid allergens for children with dietary needs.
- Maintain high-quality food production while ensuring full compliance with health regulations.
- Work effectively under pressure and contribute to a positive, efficient team environment.

- Formal culinary training or equivalent professional kitchen experience is required.
