Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting students’ academic growth across various subjects, including math and special education. The Teacher will play a vital role in inspiring young learners and helping them develop essential skills for their future success.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and curiosity
- Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to track student performance and communicate with parents or guardians
- Provide tutoring and additional support to students requiring extra assistance, especially in subjects like math and special education
- Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary activities and improve overall instructional quality
- Proofread instructional materials and classroom resources to ensure accuracy and clarity
- Maintain effective communication skills to engage with students, parents, and staff effectively
- Support the development of social-emotional skills alongside academic instruction
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education Degree
- BC Teacher Certification
- In-depth knowledge of the new BC Ed curriculum, and other Educational Programs
- Knowledge of public, independent and band operated schools, an asset
- Knowledge of local language and culture, an asset
- Innovative and Creative Teaching Experience
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Strong organizational and planning skills to teach multi-graded classrooms
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills, including technology
- Team player
- Motivational and behavioral management techniques
- Clear Criminal Record Check working with vulnerable populations

Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
