Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Roofing Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with roofing projects, supporting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the successful completion of roofing installations and repairs. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, safety-conscious, and eager to learn about roofing and construction processes.
Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using various hand tools and equipment
- Carry and position materials such as shingles, plywood, and other roofing components
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to move materials to designated work areas
- Support carpenters and other tradespeople in framing, sheathing, and related tasks
- Read and interpret blueprints and project plans to ensure accurate installation
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing and weatherproofing of roofs
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries on-site
Requirements
- Experience with hand tools, construction, carpentry, or handyman work is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks throughout the workday
- Knowledge of blueprint reading is advantageous
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in a construction environment
- Prior experience with caulking or waterproofing is a plus
- Reliable transportation to job sites; valid driver’s license is beneficial
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to learn new skills related to roofing and construction processes
Pay: $24.00-$29.00 per hour
