- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations
- Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, precision grinding and other operations
- Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using had and power tolls
- Study job orders or interpret blueprints to determine machining operations to be performed
- Verify dimensions for parts machined using micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring instruments
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery
- Use and Knowledge of CAD Software (Mastercam)
- Troubleshooting equipment
- A minimum of Grade 12 high school education or its equivalent is required
- Committed to obtain Trade Certification through on the job training and in school curriculum
- Able to lift to 50lbs
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude
- Attend and maintain a passing grade at in-school training
- Strictly Adhere to company health and safety procedures at all time
- Ability to work under the supervision of licensed millwright, as part of a team and independently in a busy environment
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
