Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice 4-5 days/week. This position will be to cover a maternity leave of 1 year, with potential to stay on afterwards. Start date of September. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, and Dentrix is highly desirable. We also offer extended health benefits.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment before and after procedures.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and equipment.
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix is an advantage.
- Experience in pediatrics or orthodontics is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to safety protocols.
Hours:
Monday: 11am-7pm
Tuesday: 11am-7pm
Wednesday: 8am-4pm
Thursday: 8am-4pm
Fridays (alternating): 8am-3pm
