Casework Supervisor - Temporary

North Central Alberta Children's Services is looking for a Casework Supervisor to lead a team of Generalists supporting the Barrhead Office.

The Casework Supervisor is responsible for supporting alignment of casework practice with direction of North Central Alberta Children's Services and the Ministry. The Supervisor's primary activities are to ensure that the interventions of Generalists are based on sound practice and that decisions support the safety of the child and the integrity of the family; to ensure Ministry policies and procedures are implemented; to build capacity of the staff reporting to the position; to support critical thinking and analysis; to provide direction and support for practice, to assess worker strengths to match workload/caseload and to ensure that program services are delivered in accordance with accepted practices and within established guidelines.

BSW/MSW supplemented by 2 years of related experience as a child intervention services worker. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Knowledge of community resources is an asset. Experience working with Microsoft office is required. Knowledge and work experience with the Aboriginal culture and language is an asset.

Equivalencies will be considered: Related university degree and at least 4 years of related experience, or related diploma and at least 5 years of related experience.

$2,878.37 to $3,727.43 bi-weekly

This is a temporary position until approximately April, 2020 in Barrhead.

The final candidate for this position will be asked to undergo academic verification, an Intervention Record Check and provide a Criminal Record Check that includes a Vulnerable Sector screening check.

As the Health Professions Act has been proclaimed, successful applicants who possess a BSW, MSW or Diploma in Social Work are required to register and maintain registration with the College of Social Workers.

The successful candidate will be required to have a valid Alberta Driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle as travel will be required.

Working knowledge of Microsoft products is required.

This competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same or lower classification level across the Government of Alberta.

Hours of work 36.25 weekly. You must have flexibility in your schedule as this position is required to participate in on-call/after hours rotation (evenings and weekends).
