FTC Innovation is seeking an experienced MDU Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of our Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) telecommunications projects.
This role is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of projects from beginning all the way to customer activation, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, financial performance, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a proven operational leader with strong telecommunications experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple teams across a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management Oversee the daily execution of all MDU operations within assigned regions.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
- Manage project schedules, manpower, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve operational challenges.
- Coordinate priorities with Project Managers and Field Managers.
- Lead and mentor, Field Supervisors, Coordinators, and field crews.
- Establish performance expectations and accountability across all operational teams.
- Conduct regular operational meetings and performance reviews.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of field personnel.
- Cross-Department Coordination Work closely with: Engineering & Design, construction Teams, Sales Department, Installation & Repair (I&R), QA/QC, Health & Safety Logistics & Warehousing
- Ensure smooth project handoffs between each phase of the MDU lifecycle.
Client Management
- Act as the primary operational contact for assigned customers.
- Attend client meetings and provide regular production updates.
- Resolve escalations professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain strong working relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Follow operational budgets and labour utilization.
- Review production reports and project profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Approve operational expenditures within authority limits.
- Ensure compliance with all client specifications and FTC quality standards.
- Enforce company Health & Safety policies.
- Support audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

- Track production KPIs and forecast resource requirements.

Qualifications 5+ years of telecommunications operations management experience. Experience managing MDU, FTTH, or broadband infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of construction, structured cabling, fibre optics, and customer activation. Experience managing multiple field teams. Strong financial and operational planning skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Valid driver's licence with willingness to travel. Preferred Experience MDU construction and deployment, operations Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) ISP or telecommunications construction Customer activation and Installation & Repair (I&R). Contractor and subcontractor management. Program management platforms such as Vitruvi, Smartsheet, or similar Skills. Leadership Decision making Conflict resolution Scheduling and resource planning Budget management. Client relationship management. Risk management. Team development. Communication Problem solving.

What Success Looks Like The successful MDU Operations Manager consistently delivers high-quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget while building strong client relationships, developing high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence across every stage of the MDU deployment lifecycle.
Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
