The Field Service Trainer (Electrical/Mechanical) is responsible for developing, preparing and presenting training courses on mechanical or electrical maintenance related subjects.
Develops and maintains course training guides and manuals, keeping up-to-date with new training methods, equipment and components.
Participates in training evaluation to improve course effectiveness.
Directs the work of a group of apprentices, participating in identifying training needs, and conducting training to update trades staff.
Provides technical advice and direction to maintenance staff on matters relating to maintenance and repair procedures.
Investigates fleet maintenance problems, determining the cause and effect, making recommendations to resolve problems, and following up on training.
Represents Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) on matters related to legal vehicle checks, accident investigations and technical matters, providing information to internal departments and external agencies.
Participates in the preparation of standards and specifications for transit vehicles, equipment and facilities, performing preservice inspections on new vehicles.
