Position Summary
As a Tech Aide you will be required to partner with all clinic staff to ensure that they are provided with support and assistance consistently. Your main responsibilities include chaperoning exams, ensuring patient rooms, change rooms and high touch areas are sanitized and ready to go for the next patient.
You will also be required to porter patients, and to assist in creating a smooth patient and clinic flow.
It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that we are all providing patients with a positive experience and providing a little extra time to connect with each patient.
Priority Responsibilities:

Chaperoning male Ultrasound Techs for all Pelvic Exams
-
Cleaning all Ultrasound Patient Rooms (Stretcher, Machine, Chairs, Countertops, Doorknobs, and Handles)
-
Cleaning additional Patient Rooms (X-Ray, Fluoroscopy) throughout the clinic
-
Cleaning all Clinic Change Rooms and Waiting Rooms throughout the clinic
-
Hourly Clinic Cleans (Doors, Handles, Washroom – Sinks, Door Handles, Toilet Handles, Dispensers (Soap, Paper Towel, Toilet Paper, Sanitizer), Floors (as required), Stock Items as needed.

Assist with patient flow: Change and Porter Patients – Update IDDA with locations.

Department specific responsibilities as available
Ultrasound Specific Responsibilities
-
Clean EV Probes
-
Test HLD Chemicals (for probe cleaning) in the morning and change as needed.
-
Deliver printed baby pictures to obstetrical patients as needed.
-
Escort obstetrical patients to reception to ensure routine pregnancy exams are scheduled (NT, anatomy, and follow up exams) as required.

Restock Supplies – Table Paper, Towels, Gel (Packets and Bottles), Pillowcases, Prob Covers, Wipes, Spray, Cleaning Cloths, Kleenex, Sanitizer for doors, Red Dots in Echo Room.
X-Ray Specific Responsibilities
-
Clean exam room between patients (chair, door handle, table and/or wall bucky)
-
Escort patients to reception to ensure future and follow up exams are scheduled as required.

Restock Supplies – Gowns, additional supplies as advised.
Bone Density Specific Responsibilities
-
Clean exam room between patients (chair, door handle)
Mammography Specific Responsibilities

Clean exam room between patients (chair, door handle)

Escort patients to reception to ensure future and follow up exams are scheduled as required.

Restock Supplies – Gowns
Nuclear Medicine Specific Responsibilities
-
No assistance needed due to training aspect at this time.
General Clinic Specific Responsibilities
-
Assist the Site Lead and/or Ultrasound Coordinator with ordering supplies.

Unpack supply order and cross-check order received to order shipped as per packing slip. Ensure packing slips are given to Site Lead
-
Removal and replacement of laundry bags throughout the clinic

Qualifications

Grade 12 graduate
-
Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience with a focus on customer care

Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology are considered an asset.

Medical Office Administration diploma is considered an asset.
-
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
-
Reliable vehicle with a valid driver’s license is preferred.
