Trailer Mechanic – Tycrop, Possum Belly & Walking Floor Trailers
$30–$35/hour | Full-Time
We are looking for an experienced Trailer Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of Tycrop, Possum Belly, and Walking Floor trailers, with some minor repairs and maintenance on highway tractors as required.
This is a hands-on role in a busy operation where our trucks and trailers are working every day. We need someone who can troubleshoot problems quickly, make repairs on the fly, and keep equipment in service.
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnose and repair Tycrop, Possum Belly, and Walking Floor trailers
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, air, electrical, and mechanical issues
- Diagnose and repair Walking Floor systems
- Repair air leaks, hydraulic lines, cylinders, suspension, and brake components
- Perform tarp and trailer body repairs
- Complete minor highway tractor repairs and maintenance as required
- Troubleshoot basic truck electrical, air, and mechanical issues
- Welding and fabrication as required
- Complete preventative maintenance and inspections
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and daily repair needs
- Identify developing problems before they take equipment out of service
- Prioritize repairs based on operational needs
- Keep trucks and trailers safe, reliable, and working
What We're Looking For
- Strong trailer repair and mechanical experience
- Experience with Tycrop, Possum Belly, and/or Walking Floor trailers strongly preferred
- Experience working on tractor-trailer equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Experience with hydraulic and air systems
- Basic highway tractor repair and maintenance experience
- Able to work independently and make decisions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day
- Someone who understands that uptime matters — the goal is to repair equipment properly and get it back to work
Compensation
$30–$38 per hour, depending on experience and ability.
We are looking for a mechanic who takes ownership of the fleet, solves problems quickly, and keeps our equipment on the road.
Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
