Job Summary:
As an AutoCAD Designer at Konstant, you will report to the Design Manager for business directions. This position entails teaming with sales representatives to interpret customer needs in an effort to develop storage system solutions. The designers will play a key role in developing innovative designs and will prepare drawings for presentation to customers; prepare bills of materials for costing; and prepare shop drawings for manufacturing. Certain larger projects may also require the designers to assist in sales presentations and/or assist in project management.
The role of a Designer inherently involves constant communication and interaction with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, and IT personnel to successfully manage projects. It is also expected that work is performed beyond normal working hours to meet critical project milestones.
Job Responsibilities:

Storage System Design – interpreting customer requests so they may be converted into design proposals that creatively optimize warehouse space utilization; this requires applying strong analytical skills in material flow and facility layout design given available company product lines

CAD Drawings – preparation of complete and accurate presentation, installation, PSR / permit, and fabrication drawings for engineering approval using AutoCAD 2012; meticulous in adhering quality drawing standards

Costing & Quotation Preparation – preparing detailed bills of materials and costing of moderate to large projects (materials, installation, freight, travel, project management); this entails coordinating with purchasing personnel to procure all necessary materials for projects

Project Management – coordinating with our manufacturing plants, customers, consultants, field managers, and other sub-contractors during the span of a project to ensure timelines are successfully met, unforeseen issues are adequately resolved, and that customer concerns are addressed to the satisfaction of all parties

Presentation of Proposals – actively participating, when requested, in the presentation of proposals to management, customers or consultants; fluent in all Windows-based applications and excellent written and verbal skills in the preparation of technical documents

Special Projects – assisting with special projects that will further develop Konstant’s design capabilities and initiatives (e.g. maintaining accurate AutoCAD blocks for company-wide use, creating new product design standards, assessing the development of design automation resources, etc.)
Job Requirements:

A technical education (degree, diploma, certificate) in a related vocation (e.g. design, engineering, architecture), or equivalent industry experience
