Seeking a highly reliable, proactive, and positive Personal Attendant to assist with personal care, household management, daily routines, and supporting an active lifestyle.
This is a private one-on-one role working directly for me in my home, not through an agency, with no rotating clients or facility work. I have quadriplegia and require someone who can act as my “hands” throughout the day.
PSW certification is not required, but related experience is an asset. I will provide training specific to my routines and care needs.
Responsibilities
Transfers, mobility assistance, showers, dressing, grooming, bowel care, stretching, and personal care
Managing care/medical supplies
Cleaning, laundry, dishes, meal prep, organization, and household upkeep/related tasks
Snow shovelling/outdoor maintenance
Travel prep and errands
Anticipating needs, problem-solving, and helping maintain an efficient home environment
This role requires someone who takes initiative, works efficiently, adapts well, and does not require constant direction. A positive attitude, professionalism, reliability, and strong work ethic are extremely important.
Requirements
Fluent English communication skills
Exceptional punctuality and reliability
Physically capable of transfers and household duties
Comfortable with personal care
Valid passport and willingness to travel occasionally
Vulnerable Sector Check required
Legally authorized to work in Ontario
Starting pay: $35/hr
Performance review after 3 months with potential increase up to $38.50/hr based on reliability, initiative, efficiency, and overall performance.
