As a frontline IT and network support engineer for our on-site projects across the Americas, you will be the first point of contact for IT and network issues at all warehouse sites and local offices in the region. You will ensure stable operation of robot systems and IT infrastructure during local business hours. This role covers three core technical domains: networking, operation & maintenance, and cybersecurity. You will also take part in pre-sales and solution implementation work during project delivery phases. Based on the standard network and server deployment architecture provided by the headquarters, you will design, deploy and implement solutions at customer sites.
1. Primary On-site & Remote Support (Core Duty)
- Respond to network and IT incidents at all warehouse sites across the Americas during local business hours, and conduct initial troubleshooting including connectivity checks, log collection, device reboot, AP and switch status verification, etc.
- Provide desktop support for local office staff, including device configuration, account management, software installation and conference room AV support.
- Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for critical network incidents.
2. Network Operation & Hybrid Cloud Interconnection
- Maintain site LAN and wireless networks, including Wi-Fi controller administration, channel optimization and performance analysis.
- Collaborate with the corporate network team to deploy and troubleshoot hybrid/multi-cloud interconnections, covering routing, VPN, DNS and traffic optimization.
- Support deployment, commissioning and maintenance of remote access and WAN platforms (VPN, SASE, SD-WAN) on the Americas side.
- Possess foundational knowledge of AWS networking (VPC, Security Groups, Route 53, cross-region interconnection), capable of completing on-site configuration and validation in line with corporate architecture standards.
- Maintain VMware virtualization platforms and on-premises servers to guarantee system stability and performance.
3. Cybersecurity
- Assist in deploying FortiGate enterprise firewall policies, VPN configuration, log analysis and initial response to security incidents.
- Support PKI and certificate management to secure access and communication encryption.
- Coordinate with corporate security and service desk teams to ensure on-site networks are compliant, controllable and scalable.
4. Upgrade Coordination (Collaboration with China HQ)
- Work closely with the corporate network engineering team based in China to accurately collect and share diagnostic information for efficient remote issue resolution.
- Act as the technical and linguistic bridge between on-site teams and headquarters.
5. Pre-sales & Solution Implementation (Approx. 20% of workload)
- During new project delivery, adapt, demonstrate and present standard network and server deployment architectures provided by headquarters according to actual customer site conditions.
- Collaborate with sales and project teams for customer technical communication, site surveys, deployment architecture planning and on-site implementation.
- Collect on-site constraints such as server room conditions, link specifications and IP planning requirements, and provide feedback to the corporate solution team.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Network Engineering or related disciplines; minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise networking or IT support (5 years required for deep network architecture roles).
- Solid command of fundamental protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLAN and routing, with strong capabilities in fault analysis and root cause identification.
- Familiar with deployment and troubleshooting of enterprise wireless networks, switching/routing hardware and VMware virtualization.
- Proficient in Chinese communication for collaboration with China HQ; English as daily working language for on-site operations.
- Strong sense of responsibility and excellent documentation skills, able to independently complete on-site tasks within a global team.
- Willing to work on-site in the Americas and accept reasonable on-call rotation schedules.
