Overview
Root River Logging is seeking a skilled and dedicated Logging Operations Warehouse Associate - Parts & Supplies Runner to join our team. This is a part warehouse/part field based position and camp stay and overtime hours may be required. The ideal candidate will perform tasks related to both logging operations and warehouse management, including receiving, storing, and distributing parts and supplies. Their duties may involve various manual tasks related to the logging operations, as well as ordering, purchasing, picking up, sorting, storing, inventorying, and issuing parts and supplies for logging heavy equipment. This role is essential for maintaining forestry harvesting and processing workflow. The Logging Operations Warehouse Associate - Parts & Supplies will work closely with the Root River Logging Heavy Equipment Mechanic and Supervisor, and will contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our forestry operations.
Duties
- Perform tasks related to support both logging operations and warehouse management, including ordering, receiving, storing, purchasing, acquiring, inventorying, and distributing parts and supplies for logging operations.
- Manage parts and supplies at the Root River Logging Warehouse.
- Work closely with the Root River Logging Heavy Equipment Mechanic in the ordering and distribution of parts and supplies to support heavy equipment operation for logging operations.
- Various manual tasks related to the logging operations, as assigned.
- Collaborate with other Root River Logging employees to execute project plans effectively and safely.
- Maintain accurate electronic records of parts and supplies ordering and distribution, as well as inventory of parts in the warehouse.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Local to Sioux Lookout or Dryden area and/or ability to stay local for each week, commuter benefits are not provided.
- Demonstrated reliable employment experience and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment parts and manufacturers is an asset.
- Familiarity with forest harvesting and logging practices is an asset.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills is required to interact with parts suppliers and Root River Logging employees.
- Computer literacy and fluency, and ability to work within Microsoft Office suite of applications is an asset.
- Class G Drivers License is required and clean driver's abstract is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic documentation skills to maintain records associated with parts, supplies, and warehouse management.
- Must be able to work in a camp environment with flexibility in shift work.
- Willingness to travel and work in an outdoor environment in remote locations.
- Able to work cooperatively in a team, but also independently with little supervision.
- Safe work mindset is required.
- Accountable and dependable.
