Role Summary:
The Casting Assistant at YY Media Co. will play a key role in supporting the casting department, primarily focusing on background performers for various projects, including film, TV, and commercials. This position offers ample opportunity for growth and is ideal for someone looking to pursue a long-term career in casting. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth execution of casting projects and maintaining positive relationships with talent, talent agencies, and influencers.
What Success Looks Like:
Success in this role will be defined by the assistant’s ability to:
- Efficiently assist with the casting process for background performers, ensuring timely and appropriate selections.
- Seamlessly support casting directors and casting associates with tasks such as email correspondence, research, and administrative duties.
- Contribute to the growth of YY Media Co. by maintaining strong relationships with talent agencies, model agencies, and influencers.
- Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude while managing project-based responsibilities.
- Show growth in casting knowledge and skills, with a focus on developing a career in casting for film, TV, and commercials.
Responsibilities:
- Assist casting directors and casting associates with all aspects of casting, including organizing and managing background performers.
- Handle email correspondence and communication with talent, agents, and industry professionals.
- Conduct research to support casting decisions and projects.
- Maintain organized records of casting calls, auditions, and bookings.
- Build and maintain relationships with talent agencies, model agencies, and influencers, contributing to the talent pool.
- Collaborate remotely with the team, providing timely updates on project progress.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Workspace, and other remote collaboration tools.
- Basic knowledge of casting software or databases (e.g., Casting Networks, Spotlight, Breakdown Services) is an asset.
- Previous experience in film, TV, or commercial is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- A passion for casting and a desire to build a long-term career in the entertainment industry.
- Familiarity with the Film industry, particularly in casting or talent representation, is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and remotely while remaining highly productive.
- Experience building relationships with talent agencies, influencers, and other industry professionals is highly desirable.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.
- A bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Studies, Communication, or a related field is preferred but not required.
