The Team
At the Court Services Branch, you will be joining a well-established and cohesive unit integral to the effective operation of the court system. This team collaborates closely with a diverse group of professionals, including Managers of In-Court and Registry Operations, Sheriffs, Judges, Crown Counsel, and private practice lawyers. The Court Services team is distinguished by its commitment to collaboration and inclusivity, striving to ensure equitable access to justice and making a significant impact on the legal system.
The Role
As a Court Clerk you’ll play a key role in supporting both civil and criminal courts by managing and processing court documents, ensuring all case data is accurate and up-to-date. You'll maintain court files with a focus on integrity and provide crucial information to users of the court system. Reporting to the Manager of In Court Operations, you'll use computerized tracking systems to keep everything running smoothly, making sure all court processes are handled with accuracy and clarity. This role values diversity and inclusion, ensuring all court users receive respectful and equitable service.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
- Two years office experience, OR
- One year office experience and a minimum of one year education/training in a legal related field.
- Experience/training in keyboarding, word processing, data entry and other standard computer applications.
- Experience in keyboarding with a minimum of 40 words per minute (WPM).
Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
- Experience with JUSTIN and/or CEIS.
- Experience with delivering customer service.
