Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter to help with our construction and renovation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of residential and commercial renovation tasks, including wall removal, framing, capping and finishing work, drywall repairs, and general carpentry duties.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, concrete finishing, and the use of various hand and power tools. This role involves working on diverse projects including siding, framing, concrete work, and heavy equipment operation. The contractor will be responsible for executing construction tasks with precision, adhering to safety standards, and contributing to high-quality project outcomes.
Duties:
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate project execution
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and restoration tasks with attention to detail
- Install siding, framing, and other structural components using hand tools and power tools
- Use woodworking techniques for custom carpentry projects and detailed finish work
- Installation of sliding track doors
- Removal of a non-structural wall and restoration/finishing of affected areas
- Removal of existing doors
- General carpentry and finishing work as required
Skills
- Proven experience in residential carpentry, renovation, and finishing work
- Ability to install sliding doors, door hardware, and trim accurately
- Experience with demolition and restoration of non-structural walls
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and building practices
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, measurements, and project specifications
- Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC safety requirements and safe work procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and complete projects within established timelines
Project Duration
- Estimated duration: approximately 1 week
- Maximum contract duration: 2 weeks to 1 month
Requirements
The successful contractor must provide the following:
- Valid Business LicenseValid
- Contractor Liability Insurance
- WCB (WorkSafeBC) Registration
- Ability to obtain and provide a Clearance Letter if required
- Relevant experience in residential renovation and carpentry work
- Own tools and equipment preferred
