The Opportunity:
Located in our Calgary office and reporting to Darwin Feil, you will be working with Facilities, Operations, Drafting and Acquisitions teams to coordinate the flow of documents for Conventional / Thermal Facilities. You will develop departmental procedures and standards to ensure that quality products are produced and to ensure high level of productivity. You will also develop written procedures for managing facilities documents and will work with other departments and external contractors, as required, to develop a guidance manual and tables for standard document naming conventions
Key Accountabilities:
Provide assistance as one of the Facilities liaisons for engineering drawings and documents either in support of in-house engineering work, or field personnel who require facilities documents, including those required for Management of Change (MOC) documentation
Assist in the development of procedures for the intake of engineering drawings and related technical information received when Canadian Natural acquires other properties
Assist with the development of an efficient process to expedite the cataloguing of engineering information received from acquired assets
Work together with document control to maintain engineering drawing and document structures as well as turnover of controlled documents for entry into the document control system
Maintenance of the existing and continuing development of the document search and retrieval tool to enable facilities, field personnel and other stakeholders to efficiently locate drawings and documentation
Assist in developing procedures to ensure records management compliance as required for regulatory agencies and assist during agency audits
Review existing procedures, conduct analysis and provide recommendations to ensure efficient methodology for managing documents
Continually review processes and recommend change that enhances quality and productivity
Assist corporate records management to maintain active and inactive documents as required under the document control system classification system procedures

Skills & Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of engineering drawings and documents
Advanced MC Office proficiency, especially MS Excel and Access
Document records management practices and procedures
Typically 3+ years of related experience in the oil and gas industry
Strong written and oral communication as well as organizational, analytical skills and attention to detail is crucial
Able to work with all levels of personnel, as well as work independently
AutoCAD and related drawings systems knowledge would be an asset
