As an integral member of the In-Hospital Logistics Team the responsibilities of the INVENTORY COORDINATOR, includes maintaining responsibility for Additions, Deletions and Changes to stock items to support the overall hospitals investment in the Plexxus Distribution Centre, including the ability to identify and source substitutes, and manage backorders on behalf of the Centralized hospital; including the management of Slow Moving and Obsolete Inventories identified by the Plexxus Distribution Centre. The Inventory Coordinator will also play a role in representing IHL on the UHN Spec Committee, taking a lead role in assisting the Clinical Resources Team and Managers to implement new product groups, as well as product conversions; performing cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.
Completion of Grade XII, or recognized equivalent
Completion of a recognized post secondary diploma program in Business Administration majoring in Operations Management; or Purchasing, or recognized equivalent
Three (3) years inventory and materials management experience or
Three (3) years Purchasing in a Shared Service Organization
Experience working in a clinical specialty environment
Computerized inventory system experience
Experience working in a Microsoft environment
Membership in the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (P.M.A.C.) or Professional Logistics Designation (P. Log) an asset.
Proven ability to work with others in a collaborative and positive manner to ensure a common goal
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Effective organizational/prioritization skills, ability to plan work efficiently and effectively
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
Ability to meet frequent deadlines and changing priorities
Ability to work independently and be flexible and adaptable
