Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable team player to join our team in the seafood processing industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe processing of food products, particularly within the seafood sector. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality production practices. This is a full-time permanent position.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery and equipment used in food processing and packaging
- Cut, clean, trim and weigh fish or seafood according to specifications
- Monitor product quality and inspect fish fillets to determine the optimal number and size of fillets
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Check products and packaging for defects and ensure conformance to company standards and perform corrective machine adjustments as required
- Assist in the packaging of finished products for distribution
- Record production information
- Clean machines and immediate work areas
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency
Skills
Prior plant experience is an asset but NOT necessary.
Experience in the following points may be eligible for a higher pay increase/position:
- Proficiency in butchery techniques and meat cutting skills.
- Strong understanding of food processing methods and sanitation practices.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
