OVERVIEW
Canada Guaranty is currently seeking a Quality Assurance and Risk Analyst to join our Risk Management team.
The Quality Assurance and Risk Analyst is responsible for the delivery of Canada Guaranty’s underwriting audits (internal and external) and the management of the company’s compliance policies and oversight practices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILTIES

Perform internal underwriting audits to ensure compliance with guidelines and processes.

Perform external quality assurance reviews of lending partners.

Perform internal system audit reviews to ensure the system is operating as intended.

Collect and analyze trends and information for reports and documentation.

Share audit insights with Executive and Audit Committees, as necessary.

Actively demonstrate support for quality improvement initiatives.

Assist in developing and building strategic lender relationships and inform management of any business trends that may impact customer relationships.

Develop strategic relationships with counterparts throughout the Canada Guaranty organization to understand the scope and implications of new products, guidelines, programs, policies, and procedures.

Support Loss Management team in reviewing potential claim files.

Perform other duties and assist with projects to support Enterprise Risk Management initiatives, as required.

Travel may be required.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES

University degree or college diploma.

5+ years’ experience in audit or underwriting.

Extensive knowledge of mortgage lending and mortgage insurance industries.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrate the ability to create and deliver effective presentations and reports for audiences at all levels, including Executives and the Board.

Demonstrate a high level of investigative and analytical skills.

Exhibit a risk-based approach to problem-solving and decision-making that considers the proactive management of risk, related to Risk Management and Underwriting execution.

Prioritize work in an organized manner and manage time to accomplish a wide variety of tasks efficiently and effectively.

Demonstrate exemplary attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.

Maintain current knowledge of applicable Canada Guaranty guidelines and policies, as well as governance models and best practices, together with a working knowledge of control frameworks.
