FOREMAN
Location: Scarborough, ON
Project: Diaphragm Wall (Scarborough Subway Extension)
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Foreman is responsible for coordinating daily site activities, leading and developing crew members, maintaining productivity and quality standards, and ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with project requirements.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in ground improvement and/or deep foundations, strong leadership skills, and the ability to effectively coordinate people, equipment, materials, and changing site conditions.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead and supervise field crews performing ground improvement and/or deep foundation activities.
· Plan and coordinate daily work activities in collaboration with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and other site personnel.
· Ensure crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors are organized and available to meet project requirements and schedules.
· Provide hands-on technical guidance and direction to crew members.
· Monitor productivity, quality, and progress against project plans and schedules.
· Read and interpret project drawings, specifications, work plans, and other technical documents.
· Complete and review daily reports, production records, equipment inspections, and other required documentation.
· Identify and communicate potential safety, quality, equipment, or production issues and assist in developing solutions.
· Promote and enforce compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
· Conduct toolbox talks and participate in daily safety meetings.
· Coordinate equipment requirements, maintenance needs, and material deliveries.
· Train, mentor, and support the development of crew members.
· Maintain a positive, professional, and productive work environment on site.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
· 5+ years of experience in heavy civil, geotechnical, ground improvement, deep foundations, or related construction environments.
· Previous experience leading crews as a Foreman, Lead Hand, Superintendent, or senior field operator.
· Demonstrated hands-on experience with ground improvement and/or deep foundations, such as:
- · Drilled shafts or caissons
- · Piles and pile installation
- · Micropiles or anchors
- · Jet grouting
- · Soil mixing or deep soil mixing
- · Vibro compaction or vibro replacement
- · Stone columns
- · Grouting and injection systems
- · Other specialized geotechnical construction methods
· Experience working with drilling rigs, cranes, excavators, mixing plants, pumps, and other heavy construction equipment is an asset.
· Strong understanding of construction site safety requirements and safe work practices.
· Proven ability to lead crews, manage competing priorities, and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $24.18-$48.91 per hour
