Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join our finance team. We are small manufacturing company located in the 401 and Markham road area. This role is vital in managing accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with various accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including data entry and transaction recording using accounting software
- Manage and coordinate between departments
- Process customer payments
- Preform invoice of customer orders with shipping charges
- Perform account reconciliations for bank statements, credit accounts, and other financial accounts to maintain accuracy
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and resolve issues promptly
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accuracy in employee payments
- Prepare financial reports, summaries, and statements for management review
- Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses against forecasts and providing insights for financial planning
- Maintain organized records of all financial documents in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Work in person in office 5 days a week could be part time at 25 to 30 hours per week or full time at 40 hours per week
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accountant with a minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Understanding in accounting software platforms
- Strong understanding of payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and account reconciliation procedures
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and account analysis
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high accuracy standards
