Kitchen Helper –
Toncini Pasta Bar is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join our team in our busy production kitchen and Pasta Bar.
This is a daytime position, scheduled from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with food, staying organized, and being part of a fast-paced team. You’ll support our chefs with daily food preparation, cleaning, dishwashing, and general kitchen operations to help keep everything running smoothly.
Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is an asset, but not required. We’re happy to train the right person who has a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist our chefs with daily food preparation and basic prep tasks
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
- Help prepare ingredients, including washing, chopping, portioning, and organizing food
- Maintain clean and organized prep stations, counters, floors, storage areas, and equipment
- Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries when needed
- Keep ingredients and supplies organized throughout the kitchen
- Manage garbage, recycling, and general kitchen cleanup
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures
- Support the kitchen team wherever needed during busy production and service periods
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen, restaurant, or food preparation experience is an asset, but not required
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as lifting boxes, pots, and kitchen supplies
- Interest in Italian food, fresh pasta, and kitchen operations is a plus
