Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Environmental Services Manager to lead the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance operations within a well-established long-term care home in Sudbury, Ontario.
This leadership role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff. You'll play a key role in ensuring the home consistently meets regulatory standards while leading a dedicated team committed to excellence in resident care.
Provide leadership and day-to-day oversight of the Environmental Services department, including housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance.
Ensure the home maintains exceptional standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control (IPAC), safety, and environmental compliance.
Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs for the building, equipment, and grounds.
Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, Ministry standards, Occupational Health & Safety requirements, and organizational policies.
Lead, coach, mentor, and support departmental staff through performance management, scheduling, recruitment, orientation, and ongoing development.
Manage departmental budgets, inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
Coordinate repairs, renovations, and contractor services while minimizing disruption to residents.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, emergency preparedness planning, and accreditation or inspection processes.
Collaborate closely with the leadership team to promote a safe, comfortable, and resident-focused environment.
Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in environmental services, facilities management, maintenance, or hospitality, preferably within Long-Term Care, Retirement Living, or Healthcare.
Strong understanding of Ontario Long-Term Care legislation, Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC), Occupational Health & Safety, and environmental services best practices.
Experience managing maintenance programs, life safety systems, building operations, and contracted services.
Proven leadership experience with staff scheduling, coaching, performance management, and team development.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems is considered an asset.
Knowledge of emergency preparedness and building compliance requirements is preferred.
